O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference - March 14-17, 2005 - San Diego, CA
God I wish I could go to this thing. Almost every presentation I read about is something I would be interested in attending. Maybe next year.
Ed Emberley - children's book author and illlustrator
I used to have some of his how to draw books. They are always popular with kids. For a cute calendar go to the activities section and print out his calendar pages each month.
stevenberlinjohnson.com: Tool For Thought
Cool writing tool for organizing your personal 'library' of quotes and quotations into something that can even suggest new connections between ideas. Neat. Now I just need a Mac to run it on.
Walt Disney's Song of the South: Uncle Remus, Brer Rabbit
I actually saw this as a child and I would love for it to be available without having to buy a dubbed Japanese copy burned from Lazerdisc.
Cool. A bunch of people just putting out info for the sake of better gaming. I like it.
Researchers Map The Sexual Network Of An Entire High School -- Image
In case you alays wondered about that "When you sleep with someone you sleep with everyone who has ever slept with them" and how bad could it be? Check out this graph. The best part is that 288 students are linked in one big chain. That would be the "slutty" clic.
Great place to buy dice and accesories. Just wanted to save this for later.

Awesome attempt at some Calvin and Hobbes style snow sculptures. I always wanted to do this but never had enough motivation when I lived where it snowed this much. Now with the internet to provide the audience it would be worth it to try.
Cornell News: Making plastic from oranges
This group has managed to make a plastic out of Orange oil and CO2. I hope this takes off. Stuff like this is essential to the future if we are to reduce our dependance on fossil fuels.
These guys did some semi-formal testing of just what the USPS will deliver and under what conditions. Kinda interesting and a little funny. Connected with the Annals of Improbable Research.

An excellent paper on the science behind safe security from a Comp Sci point of view. I found this fascinating and read the whole thing. Must save this for use in future writing projects.

Viper Comics: You'll Have That
A new comic about a couple in their twenties. I can still (barely) remember what it was like to be in my twenties, so I find it funny. No, really, I do remember what it was like! I was in college and studying law and had this really cranky professor who was really deep down a good guy who was trying to make me a better lawyer...No, wait. That was The Paper Chase.
OK, Fine! Maybe I don't remember what it was like to be in my twenties, but it's still funny!
THE WORLD QUESTION CENTER 2005
From BoingBoing: A bunch of scientists and others answer the question "WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS TRUE EVEN THOUGH YOU CANNOT PROVE IT?" Interesting stuff. In some cases so technical as to be on a rarefied level.
This site is a great one for good deals on all kinds of stuff. They guy also throws in news items of interest that he finds. This one was kinda interesting.
